Shortcuts

There are only a few small instances where shortcuts actually make it better.

That is set against the modern landscape of shortcut seeking that we all persist in time and time again.

Everyone wants to get there faster, everyone wants to do it with less work and making more money.

When I leave the house earlier in the morning, I don’t have breakfast in the vain attempt to get to work to be more productive, it pays me back (negatively).

I stay up late working, I get less than 7 hours sleep in a vain attempt to catapult my self forward, it pays me back with less productivity in the following days. Although there are some shortcuts that work, particularly in IT, with things like macros and repeat task software, in general it is still about the long game; laying down solid foundations and reaping the awards years later.
