Responsibility (or who touched it last)

Once you’ve taken on a task or a role or a responsibility and at some point after that decide that you’ve had enough, it’s not good enough just to stop.

Being happy to take on the task in the first place means that you were happy to take the advantages that you saw at the time and weigh those against the disadvantages that the task would bring.

To stop because you’ve had enough without closely considering the effects on everyone else involved and realising that you may be unable to stop due to the disadvantage you provide to them, seems to me to come with the territory.

Responsibility is extremely easy to take but should be extremely difficult to give back.
