On the concept of 'unfair'

I appreciate, that for many of us involved in this current situation in the world, it feels ‘unfair’.

Probably best to understand quickly that ‘unfair’ is not really a thing.

When you meet people out on your walk that you’re not aloud to talk to but you talk to anyway and you figure out that they’re still working and they’re ‘busier than ever’ and they’re being paid their full wages but working from home and their future looks bright and they can sit this out or you talk to other people who perhaps sold their business two years ago and are sat on a lump of cash, they’re just waiting for the world to settle down before they go again then you can think that this is ‘unfair’.

The concept of unfair or disproportionate or people doing better than you has always been here, you just notice it a bit more clearly in the circumstance you find yourself in now.

It’s probably ok for a minute to feel that you’re being wronged by the world, as long as you can refocus that into positive forward motion to turn things around.

The difficulty with 'unfair' is it can eat you up and turn you into something or someone that you don’t want to be, both at home and at work.

Someone who protects themselves, a taker, not a giver, someone who doesn’t have everyone’s interest at heart but only their own.

Try your best to move away from ‘unfair’ (as difficult as it seems) onto ‘what’s next’.

Some reading material around this which might help you:

His latest book is quite extraordinary about how to play the long game.

Shows you the advantage of giving in an environment where all you want to do is take and secure.
