No chain...

This phrase is used by cyclists when they're on top of their game.

It's when they're peddling along, usually in a group and usually on the flat, and it feels like there's no resistance when they push their legs.

It's a result of training, good fortune, and fitness and generally the circumstances they find themselves in, which makes them feels they could take on the world.

These periods of life happen for most people at some point (but just not very often). One minute you're no chaining, and the next minute you're on a 20% climb, wondering if you'll get to the top, thinking if your chain might break.

Taking advantage of the no-chain bits, recovering, feeling better, having ideas and feeling creative is offset by the fact that sometimes you have to grind it out to get to the top.

Everybody knows this.

Everyone can see it.

It's just tough sometimes to apply the logic and accept it.
