I was asked to email my GP surgery today with a letter from my consultant regarding my hypothyroid treatment.

I saw my consultant before Christmas and on Boxing Day one of his assistants emailed me the letter that he had emailed to my GP.

The reception at my GP surgery (who are really nice) informed me that they had received no such email, but that their NHS email address had changed and over the phone the receptionist read out to me the new email address that the correspondence should be sent to.

That is the title of this blog.

Does anyone see any problem with that email address?

Does anybody see any issues related to NHS IT, running email addresses like this, which can be mistaken even by a single character, probably 80% of the time?

Does anybody think we need any investment in NHS IT?

Nothing to see here, go about your business.

PS, I had to print the email at home and take it into the GP surgery so that it could be scanned into my notes.

For the avoidance of doubt, I had to print it on a printer using ink and paper and power, and then drive to the surgery to hand it in.
