Last in the marathon

Last in the marathon.

It's still last, isn't it?

I was reading about the 75-year-old guy who ran his 32nd marathon at the London Marathon and finished after 13 hours.

Perhaps as a younger man, I wouldn't have seen the point of that, but now, as an older man, it's the most remarkable and wonderful thing.

I would always rather finish last in the marathon than not finish at all, and I would rather start and not finish at all than never start.

Your perception changes over time, doesn't it? It changes throughout life.

There was never a triathlon I was in that I never finished, and that's probably a failure, isn't it?

I probably need to do one or two more until I don't finish and still feel that that's a success.
