Over the years, I have been to many places to hear people speak about implant dentistry.

Over the years, I have seen many of the best and most highly regarded implant clinicians in the world lecture at congresses and on courses and online.

In the early part of my career, I took two trips to the University of Bern to see Daniel Buser’s master class courses, first in aesthetic implant dentistry and then in Sinus grafting.

I travelled to Graz to learn sinus grafting.

I even stayed on a boat in Barcelona to watch some of the best in the world lecture at osteology.

Following on from that, we were able to invite some really famous and high-profile speakers to speak on our own courses, both at the Riverbank in Nottingham where the academy first started and then at our own facility here.

We have a list of people on the wall with their photographs in our Hall of Fame.

Far and away, though, the best of these experiences that I have ever seen was last year's master class with Rony Jung.

There are many reasons why that was so impressive.

Firstly, Rony is one of those rare individuals who is not only a brilliant surgeon and an extraordinary educator but a disruptive researcher, and added to that just a really nice, wonderful person.

But it's also the programme that he set providing information and teaching and practical experience on things that no one else can teach.

The programme is backed up by his own research at the University of Zurich, together with a combination of research from other high-profile individuals around the world and there is nothing on that course that you would not be taking back into your practice the following Monday.

I think the most unique thing about this, though, is the access all areas to someone like Rony Jung for two full days.

In the courses I listed above, you only saw the guy who teaches a little bit, maybe he did a lecturer or two, maybe he did a live surgery on video, but he was always quite inaccessible, quite difficult to access.

When you went to a congress, you had 30 or 45 minutes of the individual on stage with no opportunity to get near them afterwards.

You never really got to see who the person was or to understand philosophically what they were about.

On our Rony Jung master class, you get to see Rony from 8.30 in the morning in a room with 15 other people.

You get hands-on practical’s over two days together with lectures, question and answer sessions and just freestyling stuff about implant dentistry.

You get that in a tiny environment, in a wonderful place where you get the chance to know your colleagues and Rony in a way that would probably be inaccessible in any other format.

I've never seen anything like that with someone of this calibre, never known where people could get access like this and I think that is at least as valuable as the programme itself.

The website page about the course is here, and there's also a podcast I did with Ronnie last year here if you want to know more about the individual.

This is a guy who was a professional footballer for 12 years before he broke his leg, then became the tour bus guide for Zurich, then became a dentist.

The course will be running on the 13th & 14th of July and there's already some people booked on it, and it's maxed at 16.

I really hope to see you there.

I promise that this is a game changer, something which would utterly change your practice and be one of the educational experiences that you would consider to be the best you've ever seen.
