Two options: better or more.
I could put more hours in when I train on my bike - I try to get to 15 hours a week. I try to squeeze it in between work, family and everything else and then get frustrated when I don’t make it. Or I could train better.
Each session at a high quality, get the best out of every session that I could but not increase the time that I spend doing so each week.
I could do that with the business too, I could see more and more patients for the same price that I charge now or I could do it better and better over time, allowing me to charge more for a higher quality product; maintaining the ability of the business without massively increasing the numbers.
Of course the large corporations want to do both, they want to do better and they want to do more but invariably they always chase for the more. Chasing more is easier, just make a loud noise and attract more people and then sell more things. It doesn’t have to be better then. It’s interesting because chasing better feels much better too. It’s a much more fulfilled life, it’s much more satisfying trying to be good than it is trying to do more (incidentally I’ll let you into a secret, more is finite, there is only so much more you can do, better is infinite)
