For the second time on 13th June 2017, The Campbell Academy will be providing a one-day introduction to guided surgery which will be different again from what was provided last year due to the advancements that we have discovered, trialed and tested since that time.
What we aim to do on this course is to introduce the concept of guided surgery using different platforms to individuals who already place implants to see whether they think it may be of benefit to their practice and to their patients.
Firstly though, this is not a course aiming to sell you hardware including intraoral scanners and CBCT scanners. On this course we will show you exactly how to use guided surgery within your practice without having any of this hardware available directly and by outsourcing these aspects to the laboratories and CBCT centres. It’s possible to provide guided surgery without having a CT scanner or an intraoral scanner and many people are doing this well at the moment.
We will give you the opportunity to see the software from different systems and how it might work, but more importantly than that we will be honest and upfront about the pros and cons of guided surgery to help you decide whether it may be a path you want to go down within your own practicing sphere.
The course is presented by myself, Andrew Legg, Taimoor Kamran and our digital technician Mark Melbourne. You’ll have the opportunity to see surgical guides being milled, discuss the advantages between printing and milling and the opportunity to investigate different systems.
We have experience in guided surgery in the following systems:
1. Sirona and SICAT
2. CEREC Guide 2
3. Co-Diagnostix
4. Nobel Guide
5. (Developing) Simplant in conjunction with Dentsply
You may find other areas and presentations that will show you guided surgery but you will be unlikely to see a range of experience from practitioners in different platforms, which will allow you to choose your own pathway with openness and transparency.
The course is ludicrously inexpensive at £350 + VAT and runs at an exceptional venue in Nottingham. If you’re interested click here.
