The first five parts of the tech stack series are here, which gives you some insight into areas that you might want to consider investing in technologically as far as your dental practice and business is concerned.
But the final part of this is a discussion about why bother with a tech stack at all, why not just go back to paper appointment books and appointment cards that are written beautifully by a receptionist and x-rays that we develop using chemicals and everything written in a notebook.
The fact of the matter is that we are overwhelmed with input now, with compliance, with rules, with patient enquiries and with information coming in and information that we have to give out.
And so, organising this and reducing the number of repetitive tasks for the humans is one of the main opportunities and advantages of the technology that can come into your practice.
Imagine trying to run brown NHS paper appointment cards for the stuff that goes on at a modern, high-end, exceptional dental practice.
There is just no way that this could work and no way that we could keep track of the patients that are coming through of their clinical journey and their financial journey.
Imagine trying to keep, on paper and post-it notes, all the enquiries that come in and the patient treatment pathways.
Imagine trying to keep track of the money using carbonated receipt slips and handwritten notes between different people in the practice about who had paid for what.
And so, what we do is we become overwhelmed with the information input until we can systematise the process using technology
Technology in our organisation has never cost anyone their job, it has just allowed everyone in the business to become more human.
We use the technology to do repetitive tasks quickly and accurately, which allows everybody else to look up from their computer screens at patients and be better human beings.
At its best, that is what technology does.
It stops us having to repeat things and repeat things which are mind numbing and terrible and allows us the freedom to be better and to look at other things which make us more human, more caring and more empathic.
Once you do that, the scales tip in the other direction.
Regularly, patients and delegates and people from the industry will come into our practice and comment on the atmosphere in the practice.
That has happened since the day the doors opened, and we have been able to develop this and nurture this through our continued development and investment in technology that allows us to be more human.
This is definitely not for everyone and many people just want to survive until they get to the end (wherever the end might be) but if this is something that you're interested in and you would like to try to build a systematised business that allows you the advantages of these type of things, then why not have a look at our business course, the link to it is here and it starts in September this year.
The people who come on this course get full exposure and full discussion about all of the tech stack advantages.
You can't integrate this in one go, you do it over a longer period of time using vision and strategy and the business course helps you to achieve that.
Maybe see you there.
