Finally, in this series (mostly because it's gone on too long already, but I really loved it and really loved this article) is words of wisdom from Sathnam Sanghera.
The first of these is brilliant.
“The more expensive the crisps, the worse they taste”
My favourite crisps are co-ops own salt and vinegar, they are the best because they rip your tongue to bits.
Number 2 is really profound.
“You've lost the right to be sanctimonious about the environment if you've had Children. It's one of the most destructive things a human being can do for the globe”.
You might want to think about that when you're shouting at someone else about washing their yogurt pots.
Next one, “if you believe in social mobility, the best thing you can do for the cause is to stop arranging work experience for your middle-class friends and family. The working classes cannot climb a ladder when the rungs are already occupied”, another one that's really profound.
‘The business class lounge is not as good as the airport food court, you're kidding yourself”. I've been disappointed in business class lounges several times before.
And the second to last one.
“You’re old the moment that you complain about snow, modern music or modern technology as one general hateful thing”.
And finally, from him “life after the age of 39 is mainly admin. But there can be real satisfaction in tackling admin”.
How sad is that?
Because it's true.
