Winning

For years I have wondered what it would feel like to do surgery in my new place.

In this “perfect environment" that I have invented and designed for my own needs.

It was the 11th February that it happened.

Aptly it was an upper right central incisor, aesthetic case with a GBR.

It wasn’t perfect but then, on reflection, I have never ever done the prefect implant surgery.

I photographed it (I must remember to get those photographs off the card).

I kept it for posterity.

In a beautiful, airy lit surgery with the temperature controlled and the environment controlled and everything as it should be, Becky and I listened to Radio 1 from one of the double screens behind us on the IT system, as the light shone through the opaque windows and I worked quietly and carefully doing the job that I love.

For years I have thought about this and I wanted to write it down here, so I don’t let it go.

I have dreamed about scoring the winning points in an international for Scotland at Basketball or in the National Cup Final, it felt a bit like that at the end.

I had done it, I’d achieved it, onwards from here.
