In a study I read yesterday, reported in the news, only 11% of Gen Z would fight for their country if there was a war (and that's quite a lot more likely than it was before the 20th of January)

In the same study, only 41% of the same Gen Z group said they were proud to be British.

We never got here by being me, but we got here by being us. Capitalism has pushed forward the importance of me above any consideration for us.

It's funny now when you hear people complain when they look at the structures that are breaking down in the National Health Service, transport, education, or even the military; generally, the response is, 'But I need that to be there' never really the insight that the reason it got there or stayed there or was ever any good was because so many people give more than themselves to make it better.

Individuality is all fine, but the problem with individuality is if you turn around and realise that you don't have a society left to live in.
