One of the things that I find gets in the way of playing the infinite game is the battle for status.
The infinite game doesn't need any status because the infinite game is infinite.

If you're playing a finite game, there's probably a winner and a loser, or several winners and even more losers, and in order for you to be one of the winners, you have to demonstrate you're winning by status.
Often this comes in the form of baubles or bangles or shiny bright objects, you know the ones.
If you're playing the infinite game, it's not necessary to do that because you're not trying to win; you're playing the infinite game, and if you're playing the infinite game, status can fall away.
The thing about status, though, is it's sticky and pernicious; it likes to stick around.
The constant battle in playing the infinite game is to continue to push back on the call for status.
No need for you to buy a watch for £50,000 when you're buying something else much more valuable to help you move forward in the infinite game.
