I learnt this a long time ago from Seth Godin (so long ago I can’t even give you a link to the blog).
Say you wanted to get better at using excel (or anything you choose to mention).
Step 1- Hire someone who is brilliant at it for a couple of hours.
Step 2- Use the product or procedure or technique while they are watching.
Step 3- Ask them to comment, give you a debrief and tell you how to do it better.
Almost regardless of the cost it’s probably the best money (and time) you could possibly spend.
