Hiding not seeking

I was scheduled to go for a swim last Wednesday.

Last Monday, I swam one of the best little swim sessions I've done in 10 years (I haven't swum a lot in the last 10 years, so it was good to get something good done).

On Sunday I'd scheduled everything I was going to do this week in terms of training and what I could manage with a still slightly broken foot.

But last Tuesday I rode for 30 minutes on my bike for the first time in 3 weeks in the shed, and then I talked myself out of the swim and decided to ride my bike.

Not because I was scheduled to ride my bike, but because I didn't want to swim.

Riding my bike in the shed was a way of hiding from the thing that I was supposed to do.

We all hide and have strategies for hiding every day.

Sometimes we do things we're not supposed to.

Sometimes we do things that we prefer instead of the things we should do.

Sometimes we're not honest.

Sometimes we're not open.

Sometimes we don't push ourselves as hard as we could.

Hiding won't get us where we're going; it's seeking that gets us where we're going.
