Here we go again

Tomorrow sees the start of yet another cohort of our Year One Implant Course.

That is in no way boring, repetitive, or mundane.

Our Year Implant Course forms the foundation, the absolute building block of our implant education, and we're now into double digits for the number of cohorts that we've run,

It's a course that gets better and better every time we do it, and it begins with the first two modules this week presented by Beatriz Sanchez (our course director), who has developed this course astonishingly from the first cohort way back in 2016.

Shaun Sellars will lecture in the first two modules on ethics; I'm not sure any of the other implant courses in the UK have a designated ethics lecturer.

My great friend Colin Burns will do the second day he always does, where he introduces the basic science around implant dentistry and ties it in with his MSc. He is, of course, now Professor Colin Burns.

The afternoon of that day will be Tom and I talking about marketing and how to talk to patients through the year course and beyond to introduce them to the concepts of implant dentistry as a benefit to them and something they could aspire to access.

Again, I'm not sure how many other implant courses present marketing as such a fundamental part of being an implant practitioner, but if your patients don't want the treatment, there is no point in doing the training.
