When you know the storm is coming, you can prepare; you can mend your roof, secure down your property and your belongings, bring fuel in for the fire, food, all the things you're going to need to see yourself through the storm so that you can come out the other side of the storm, still intact, still playing the game, able to fix things again back to the roof, back to the fuel, back to the security and preparing for the storm that will come after that.
The same is true for all of us, isn't it? Particularly in business, always securing things, making sure the roof is intact, making sure you have enough fuel to carry on (cash), and ensuring that everything is so secure, but even the biggest storm can't finish you off.
The job is not to win; the job is to be in the game after the storm, and so the job is always to prepare for the storm because, let's be clear, the storm is always coming, and we should always be prepared.
