On November 18th we will celebrate to the fourth edition of The Campbell Giving charity ball. Since the first ball three years ago we have raised over £30,000 for several separate charities. We have always supported Bridge2Aid and this year once again for the third year in a row we will also be supporting The Friary in Nottingham, which is a drop in centre for homeless guys.
The ball itself is a classic ‘Campbell project’ were I thought I had a great idea, we put something together and it would be praised in success in result requiring no further work after the first one was done. But I was entirely wrong.
The ball takes an enormous amount of work and this has been carried out by Hayley for the past two years, who is also now in charge of the blog and in charge of running Campbell’s life in a work related sense as Marie prepares to go off and have her twins! So Hayley will be pulling together all the aspects of a ‘Wild Wild West’ ball in November. Which essentially was set up for dentistry to show the wider public that it has a heart and is willing to give back.
From the first ball it never really worked out like that and we never got quite as many dental colleagues as we thought would attend, although we did get a few that were absolutely priceless, and these guys in particular people like Wollaton Dental Care continue to support the ball fantastically well year upon year. We have also started to include it as a course dinner for some of our courses. We had the guys from the year long course there last year and hopefully the guys from the business course this year as well.
We rope in as many of our friends as we can and last year pushed towards 200 people, this year we have space for 30 tables of 10. It would be a little bigger but we have a rodeo bull in the middle of the hall to contend with. We are hoping to put together some really cool surprises for this one and hoping to get as many people as we can to have an amazing night in November, and also to raise as much money as we can for the two excellent charities that we work with.
So whoever you are or were ever you find this piece of writing, have a think about it. We can accommodate singles, pairs or tables of 10. What ever you want. Do it for your Christmas night out or just do it for fun. Come and see us. Come and support it and have a great time.
Most importantly of all though please try and share this with other people who might be interested, just so we can get as many bums on eats as we can. The clinic supports and promotes this to affectively your ticket money goes entirely to charity before we’ve even started raising money on the evening.
Hope to see you then.
