But I Need The Business...

Written by Colin Campbell | 23/07/17 17:00

… rarely was that phrase ever uttered when it was actually true. When the person who provides you business (whoever they may be) is unkind, impolite, rude, unpleasant, a bully or generally just horrible you don’t need their business that much.

It doesn’t matter how much work they send you, you can find business elsewhere. To subjugate your principles of human being-ness to accept the business of someone like that is to sell out all of us.
Two critics I encountered this week and on reflection people who were quite unreasonable taking into consideration what I have provided for them, both in the short and long term. It’s hard, even during one of the best days at work for a long time, not to consider what they said and what they accuse, but actually and on reflection it is best to part with that. I have taken the bits out that they said that will help me be better and now I will delete the rest. The truth is there are plenty of other people out there who I can do business with, people who are nice, pleasant, grateful and reasonable. I will focus my attention on them. I will let the rest of the guys do business with each other.
