Happy New Year!

On behalf of The Campbell Academy I would just like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and wish you all the best for 2017.

For many, 2016 was a strange year, from the election of Donald Trump, the vote of the British people to leave the EU, there was seemingly more deaths of famous people than usual (although i'm sure that's not the case, they just seem to be more public).

In dentistry there was a change in the guard at the GDC albeit a part change. There are the constant problems associated with NHS dentistry that rear their ugly head from time to time and an increasing fear within the profession of how their careers will pan out.

At the academy however, we've had a fantastic year! We've seen our courses grow from strength to strength and we're now in our fourth year of providing implant courses and we've grown from a single Live Skills Implant Course through to a multitude of courses covering most topics associated with implant dentistry. Along with The Campbell Clinic we have presented two conferences and had a Charity Ball which raised a fantastic amount of money.

With that in mind, I think there's cause for optimism within the profession; people are striving to provide better dentistry on their patients, providing a higher standard of care, more technologically advanced treatments and we at the academy are delighted to be a part of that.

I'd like to thank all of the delegates that came on our courses in 2016, it's been a pleasure to have you and we look forward to welcoming you back to courses in the future.

I'd also like to thank our sponsors, Straumann, Henry Schein, PFPD, Geistlich and NSK because without them the courses wouldn't be as fantastic as they are.

2017 sees the introduction of our new business course as well as other Master Class courses with the likes of Charlotte Stilwell, Adam Glassford and John Gibson. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for details regarding these.

It promises to be a fantastic year and we'd love to have you along for the ride!
