An air-raid siren

Written by Colin Campbell | 19/04/20 17:00

In my Granny Campbell’s old house in Westmorland road in Greenock they had an Anderson shelter in the back garden which they used as a garden shed.

It was dug deep down, and you had to bend down to get in and it stank.

I used to imagine what it must have been like to go in there during an air-raid as the German bombers came over the Clyde trying to wreck the shipbuilding.

My Granny used to tell me stories about the air-raids and how the sirens sounded and everyone came out glad to be alive and glad that a bomb hadn’t hit them on the top of their shelter.

There was a time where the air-raid siren went off for the last time and never sounded again but I bet nobody could remember exactly when that was.

I was on the webinar with Chris Barrow the business coach last night where 250 Dentists go on and there is a panel of experts (ha ha and for some reason I’m included in the panel!) and basically some people were asking about when ‘this is over’.

It became clear that some people are waiting for an air-raid siren.

Bad news guys, it’s not coming.

This will not disappear in an instant and ‘return to normal’.

This will blow away like the slowest fart in the wind you can ever imagine!

Once you get your head round that you can just get on with the stuff that needs to be done.
