Addition

Written by Colin Campbell | 21/03/18 18:00

I decided to add everything up at the end of last year.

Everything I had (in material terms) added up and collected into one virtual pot.

Anything in bricks and water, on paper or in my pocket.

Anything the kids might get if I died, that might come back after we bought a house 20 years ago and took out a crazy endowment policies.

I pulled it all together to see what it looked like and added it all up into one neat answer.

It turned out the answer was that I had enough.

It was great because then I could go on and do the work that mattered to me, and hopefully to other people. It’ll hopefully feed my soul and not feed my wallet.

(It turned out that I had had enough since 2006 at least).
