When you are relaxing and reflecting over Christmas.
When you're wondering what to do with your iTunes vouchers or what to download onto your new iPad or just have the opportunity to go for a walk with your wife, dog or on your own, it's good to think about what type of music you can listen to to inspire or relax you.
Music is an enormous part of my life. I listen to music everytime i'm running, often when i'm cycling (shouldn't do this) but always when I walk my dog. If i'm not listening to music I am listening to an audio book and it is one of the real joys to find something, either new or old, that just touches your heart.
Some of the suggestions for things I have loved over the last few years are listed below. It would be great, if anybody who read this, agreed, disagreed or shared other things I can listen to in 2014.
This is a wonderful album for dog walking in the evening, particularly the track 'shine' but all of it is really artistic, soft, fluffy and wonderful.
This was the first album I ever blogged about. This is the stuff I listen to immediately before a race or when I need to get myself in 'the zone' for any sort of reason. 'End credits' is my favourite track here but 'Hits' with Tiny Tempah is truly amazing. Parental advisory lyrics!
Frank Turner used to be in a band called The Million, which was heavy rock before he turned to the new folk revival. He has played 1,000's of gigs and constantly works. Without putting anybody off he is a modern day Billy Bragg but is not scared to sing about what he thinks about and for that I have utmost respect. Pretty much love everything he does.
One of the biggest hits of 2013. Fantastic album, the same sort of zone as Benjamic Francis Leftwich. Relaxing, late night music for dog walking.
Just an idea of some of the stuff I have listened to over the year and hopefully maybe something you can download with the vouchers you got for Christmas!
See you tomorrow!
