Clear Aligners Master Class

To provide practitioners with a better understanding of aligner biomechanics and give them the tools to be able to diagnose, treatment plan, and use aligners in a predictable and organised manner.

The Campbell Academy is delighted to announce a new one-day master class with Laurence Masters in November 2021. Laurence is on the General Dental Council's Specialist list and is an active member of the British Orthodontics Society (BOS), a certified provider of Invisalign Incognito, and WIN lingual braces. He is constantly enriching his orthodontic knowledge and has a special interest in digital orthodontics and new contemporary technologies associated with the specialty.

This one-day course is designed for GDPs that want to do their own aligner work and following attendance of this course, attendees will have gained a better understanding of aligner biomechanics.

Objectives:

The learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  • Case selection: are all cases suitable to be treated with aligners? Basic principles to be successful with aligner therapy.
  • Understand how aligners work: biomechanics, attachment selection, and sequencing of movements. How to make your aligner treatments more predictable.
  • To learn how to communicate with the lab technicians in order to streamline and improve your treatment plans.
  • Provide protocols and strategies in order to improve your aligner treatments and make you a more confident and determined aligner user.

 

Topics for the day:

  • Biomechanics with aligners: transverse, vertical, and sagittal planes. Anchorage and sequence of movements: how to achieve predictability in your treatment plan.
  • Basic principles to be successful with aligners: Understanding active and passive attachments: description, selection, design, application, and bonding.
  • The importance of Interproximal reduction: Do’s and Dont’s. Step by step and common mistakes.
  • Why you shouldn’t accept the first clinccheck that you receive. How to communicate with the technicians and selecting your clinical preferences.

Laurence sat Biomedical Sciences at King's College, London where he graduated in 1999 before qualifying as a general dentist in 2005. After a period of general dentistry practice, he trained for a further 3 years at the University of Barcelona, Spain, where he gained a Masters degree in Orthodontics.

Laurence is on the General Dental Council’s Specialist list and is an active member of the British Orthodontic Society (BOS), American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), International Association of Orthodontists, and Implantologists (iAOI), and Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontics (WFO).

Laurence is a certified provider of Invisalign, Incognito, and WIN lingual braces. He is constantly enriching his orthodontic knowledge. He sat the prestigious FACE/Roth-Williams advanced multidisciplinary postgraduate course in San Sebastian, Spain.

He regularly attends conferences and courses to keep up to date with all the latest developments in orthodontics. He has a special interest in digital orthodontics and new contemporary technologies associated with the specialty.

In his spare time, Laurence enjoys travelling, spending time with his family, and playing sports.
