Many times I am asked by young practice owners wishing to get into the world of implant dentistry whether I feel it will help them stand out from the competition. This is a false vision in my view because implant dentistry is advertised on almost every single dental practice website in the UK.

 

Inevitably what makes people stand out is quality or cost. To be the cheapest implant provider in your area will make you ‘stand out’ but it will not allow you to provide quality. I feel this will reduce your involvement in clinical dentistry.

 

To provide good, ethical clinical implant dentistry has a cost associated with it, it is much better to stand out from the competition by being the best (or one of the best) rather than being the cheapest (or one of the cheapest). This involves expertise in dental practice management, team training and of course clinical implant dentistry.
