On the 18th and 19th June this year we presented our first stand alone restorative course as part of The Campbell Academy with speakers including myself, Neil Poyser, the team from Cherry Dental Design Laboratory and Beatriz Sanchez.
The course covered straightforward implant dentistry moving towards some more advanced restorative dentistry including provisional crowns in aesthetic cases.
The presentations by Neil Poyser were exceptional from a Consultant Restorative Dentist who has restored thousands of dental implants in many different systems. The practical elements of the course were really carefully designed to give maximum impact and allow delegates to leave the course with the ability to restore implants in their own practice but also with a tie in to the academy so that they can ask advice at any point.
We tied this up with audiovisual demonstrations of implant impressions, face bow registrations, occlusal analysis, provisional crown placement and adjustment and final crown fitting. The feedback from the course was tremendous.
We hope to run this course yearly at least from now on for small numbers of people. If you’re interested in beginning your career in implant dentistry then it might be a great way to start if you’re not interested in surgery. It is also an excellent way to bring implant dentistry into your practice as a restorative dentist. If you live a long way away then we are happy to tie you up with a great surgeon who would be able to assist you through the process.
If you are interested please get in touch: info@campbellacademy.co.uk and we look forward to hearing from you.
