The joy of a deadline ("If tomorrow is not the due date then today is not the do date")

Without a deadline, I would never stop, and I'd never get finished too; I would tinker and footer and adjust and alter and then I would put it down and go on and do something else when I was about 80% finished.

I would then come back and do another 1% and leave it and do something else and come back again.

The joy of the deadline is you have to ship it.

You're committed; it's there, and it needs doing.

Either consciously or unconsciously, I stuff things in and hit some really hard deadlines.

The side effect of that is that I get so much stuff done.

This week is a particular example.

There are literally not enough hours in the day to fit in the things I have to do this week, but they will get done, and although they might not be as perfect as they were in my mind three months ago (hopefully, they'll be ok and by the end of the week, I will have got a lot done).
