It’s hard to believe that we’re here, after so long, I can’t even remember how long, long is.
Everyday my blog posts at 6.00pm which means if you read this, soon after it posts its 90 minutes before we launch the new practice, the new facility, this crazy place.
We call it Disney Land, because I’ve seen it in my mind for so long, it’s like that story often told about the first Disney Land.
If this end is a centre for dental collaboration, for dentists and teams to come together, to share and to learn and to get better and to improve, not only the care we provide for our patients, but the way dentistry is looked at by other people outside of the profession.
It sends a place to learn for all of us, to look after patients the best we can, and to share information that makes it easier for all of us to look after patients a little bit better.
But it might not work…
This is the first day of the rest of my life, because this will either fly or it’ll die.
It will go up or it will go down.
I have honestly tried my best to secure the future of my family against a nuclear blast, but you can’t paint over all the cracks, and you can’t fill in all the holes.
If this doesn’t work then I will be gone.
I’ll do the minimum that it takes to look after the people at home and will ride my bike and read my books and think my thoughts, away from dentistry.
If it works, god knows after what I have seen and the people that I have spoken to in the last 2 weeks, the sky really will the limit.
Either way, I want to say thanks to you.
For the people that have read this, commented and spoken to me at conferences, or meetings, or in the toilets, some have agreed, some have disagreed, and many (hard to believe) have actually just said, thanks for writing.
I’m glad that you’re here and I’m glad that you shared, on this day of days for us.
