I was listening to a podcast the other day by Malcolm Gladwell with Rick Rubin.
More about that in a different blog.
I was struck though by the fact that his house had just burned down in Malibu in the wildfires and his attitude to the things that he’d lost.
One of Bob Dylan’s tour buses was used as a recording studio and there was a good chance that it had gone but he just thought of it as stuff.
Things that you’d remember but not things totally entangled with his life.
And so, maybe for a minute we should all stop and go back to that old thing where we decide what we would collect from our house if it was burning.
If you could only take what you could carry what would you carry?
Maybe we assume that our family is outside and ok, and we’ve got 1 chance to pick up a couple of things.
Probably quite an insightful exercise when you think about it.
