More than ever, we seem to be walking a tightrope, trying to achieve some sort of almost unachievable balance in our lives and walking slowly towards the goal of a better place.

To look down and to see the place that we fall to if we fail is death in that action.

You cannot look down!

As we walk across this tightrope and it seems like parts of the world are burning and everything is changing and the goal to which we are walking towards seems to fade into the distance, the only choice we have is one foot in front of another, keep our balance and don’t fall.

Each of us that fall pulls down other people with us and so they fall and take others with them. 

You can’t look down and see what will happen if you fail (I tried that in the summer, and it wasn’t great).

Head up, face forwards, walk into somewhere better one step at a time.

That’s what we’ve got, so take it and move along.
