Just for the record, emails don’t go straight into people’s brains and log events in their internal calendars.

More and more people aren’t looking at emails or texts and therefore people are using different media like WhatsApp or otherwise to try and get your direct attention.

You get to choose if you look at your emails and reply to them quickly and absorb other people’s crisis or you get to choose not to.

I was watching Roman J. Israel Esq for the second time a week or so ago which is a wonderful, wonderful film.

He makes this point in the film and says “when people email you, you think they think it goes straight to your brain”.

It doesn’t, and it shouldn’t. It’s just that some people act that way.

My inbox will never ever be empty again, and that’s ok, because I have much, much more important things to do than answer my emails.
