It's long been said that ‘culture eats strategy for breakfast’.
In a meeting with our treatment coordination (TCO) team this week, and a meeting that I have every fortnight in the practice, and now my favourite meeting of the month every month.
The guys were celebrating the numbers that we were hitting at the moment and how privileged and lucky we are.
There are seven in that meeting plus me, a vibrant, extraordinary group of young women who are driving our business forwards and making it better and influencing people's lives in a positive way.
I chatted to Hayley (our managing director) today about it and how vibrant and enthusiastic they are, and how motivating it is for me, and we talked about the fact of how extraordinary it is that there is a group of people in our business that are driving this forward and celebrating the numbers, even though they're not incentivised by the numbers at all.
We don't subscribe to targets and rewards for targets because it's a finite game.
We subscribe to a culture where we're all winning over the long-term if we pull together and make it better.
Takes longer to build that, but it's way, way deeper.
It's not easy because you're working at it every single day, but the rewards are absolutely astonishing.
If you set your pathway forward today to have a culture like this 5 years from now, imagine where you would be, how exciting the journey would have been, and your possibilities that would go beyond that.
Can you see far enough into the future to do that, or is it just about tomorrow?
