Click....

….The sounds you get when the door closes in front of you.

To me and all the times that it’s happened to me it feels like my nose is almost touching the door as the door to my future life shuts in front of me, either because someone has slammed it in my face or, and even and much more difficult than that, when I have had to pull it closed myself using all the effort I have, to do something that feels wrong to almost all of me but to the deep part of me that knows it’s right to close that pathway off.

Click shuts the door.

When your nose is so close to the door all you can see is the shut door.

Nowhere to move, nowhere to go and no possibility to make any forward motion again.

So it seems when the door closes in front of you and I could list here the countless times that I’ve stood in front of the metaphorical door wondering how I can ever make forward progress again.

Of course, with experience you can begin to understand that all you need to do is to take 10 steps back from the door and look around.

In my mind there exists a metaphorical circular room and on taking the 10 steps back you see the thousand other doors.

What actually happens when the door clicks shut is the click of the shutting conceals the noise of a thousand other doors opening.

When you take the 10 steps back, you see the thousand open doors.

The problem here is not that you have nowhere to go…

… It’s wondering how the hell you’re going to choose from the thousand extraordinary possibilities that you have.

Good Luck.
