Sometimes the joke is really funny (at least for the people involved in the immediate vicinity of the joke).
Sometimes not so funny.
Sometimes people get offended.
Should we stop telling jokes?
We're at risk of reaching a situation where anything that we say could upset someone, and so the thing to do is to say nothing.
Not sustainable.
I quite like the principle of offence being taken, not given.
Jokes about the Scotsman, the Englishman, and the Irishman are generally very funny, especially when they're directed at the odd parts of the Scotsman.
