This blog is number 2188, so now it is hard for me to know what I have wrote before.

I desperately wanted to write one today about being a player Manager in a football team, but when I searched google I realised that I wrote that blog a thousand blogs ago and it’s [here](https://www.campbellacademy.co.uk/blog/the-player-manager-paradox).

It's perhaps worth covering this again though, because everyone else would have forgotten too if they ever read it.

I find myself at the crossroads again wondering how I can possibly manage to be a clinician and run a business.

I found myself at that same crossroad two and half years ago when I wrote the player manager paradox and almost certainly two and a half years before that.

The path to “good” or “better” is rarely, if ever, a straight-line path.

It goes up, it goes down, it has highs and god knows it has lows.

When I wrote the player manager blog around the 22nd March 2017, I can tell you that I must have been fed up and wondering how I was going to manage to cope with striking the balance between two major aspects of my career.

It would be easy for me to look back and think that I had made no progress because I wanted to write the same blog again, but the truth is, the practice, the business and myself are entirely different since two and a half years ago and generally better.
