And so it happened, and seemingly overnight, but it wasn't really like that.
The Campbell Academy was set up in 2014, and this year, it's formally going to different places in quite a big way.
One of the most successful things we ever did with The Campbell Academy concept was to create the Live Skills Courses.
I can tell you that these courses were created in a lecture theatre in Bern, Switzerland, while I was attending the Sinus Grafting Course somewhere around 2011.
I had attended Sinus Grafting courses in Austria and Switzerland and decided (in my arrogance) that a fusion of the two of those formats would work the best. With that in mind, we were able to set up Live Skills Courses in Aesthetic Implant Dentistry, in Immediate Full Arch Reconstruction and in Sinus Grafting, together with cone beam CT.
The concept of this is that we do two days of teaching and hands-on and discussion, followed by a very detailed projected live case carried out in front of your very eyes. You therefore get to see the demonstrator executing all of the theory and knowledge that they've talked about over the two days, and it cements your learning to allow you to go back home and do it yourself.
I've lost count of the amount of Live Skills Courses we provided in Nottingham, but this year we'll be taking the simultaneous Live Skills format that we provide in Nottingham out to Belfast and Dundee at the same time. We'll provide the two days of teaching in Dundee and Belfast, as we're providing in Nottingham, and then the live surgery that's carried out in Nottingham will be beamed to the audiences in Belfast and in Dundee.
What it does is it allows us to increase the amount of people who can attend Live Skills Courses and decrease their travelling. We get a lot of friends coming from Ireland and a lot coming from Scotland, and so the Live Skills Courses, which we've listed below, are completely available without travelling outside of your country now.
Belfast is hosted at the Marlborough Clinic.
Dundee is hosted at our shared facility with Wrights in Dundee.
